Meet the teacherIn my first year as teacher at Sprague High School (SHS) and the Salem Keizer School District (SKSD) I am learning many new things that will allow me to grow the Sprague High School Emotional Growth Center (EGC) in leaps and bounds during the 2016-2017 school year. Although 2016 was my first year at SKSD I am not new to teaching and bring with me many experiences I have gathered working at Sherwood High School and the Northwest Regional Education Service District.
At Sherwood High School I helped to design and implement this school's Youth Transition Program (YTP). I spent 7 years growing a program very similar to the EGC program at Sprague High School. I instructed students with disabilities about the four foundational principles of high school transition to adult life including skills in personal life, living on your own, post secondary options, and career options after high school. While at Sherwood High School I was the advisor for an in school business there called "Bowmen Productions" where my students manufactured signs and banners for the local community. After working at Sherwood High School I was hired at Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD) working in the Autism department and then moving to behavior programs including the Levi Anderson Learning on the St. Mary's Home For Boys campus in Beaverton. While there I worked with a variety of adjudicated youth that were receiving treatment for variety of behavior related issues. If at anytime you want more information about me or the programs listed above contact me at (503) 399-3261. |
